At ICOMOS Japan National Committee we welcome the collaboration of all the organizations which advocate the same objectives as ICOMOS, and professionals who are engaged with the protection of Cultural Heritage. ICOMOS Japan also provides a special membership to those students who have a strong interest in Cultural Heritage Protection and are eager to participate.
Those who wish to apply for the membership, upon reading and agreeing to the ICOMOS Japan membership statute, must send the application for and a recommendation document to our office. Regarding the payment of the membership fee for the new entries, after the approval of the membership by the board of directors, the candidate will receive a notification from the ICOMOS office. To the present members: due to the approaching end of the fiscal year, we ask you to watch out the deadline for next year membership fee payment. In case a member will not be able to pay within April we please you to notify it to the ICOMOS Japan secretariat.

Individual Membership

In this National Committee, we encourage the participation of professionals who are engaged with the protection of cultural heritage. Those who wish to apply for membership, after getting in advance the recommendation of 2 other members, must send the application form together with the recommendations to the ICOMOS Secretariat. The membership fee to pay, for one year for individual members is 10,000 yen. This membership fee includes a contribution of 40 euro that is destined to the ICOMOS headquarters.

Associate and Preservation Memberships

ICOMOS Japan encourages the participation of association and organizations whose objectives coincide with ICOMOS Japan’s. Those association that wish to apply for the Associated Membership must send their application to the ICOMOS Japan secretariat together with 2 letters of recommendation letters from already ICOMOS members. For organizations and associations 2 different types of memberships are available: associated and preservation membership.

Preservation Membership
For those in possess of a preservation membership: this committee provides an information service and the right to participate of every kind of workshop. The preservation membership fee is of 50,000 yen per year.

Associate Membership
With this membership, applicants receive the privileges of the preservation membership, the subscription to the International ICOMOS membership, they will receive a membership card from the ICOMOS headquarters, and they will have access granted to all ICOMOS international activities. The annual fee for the associate membership is 100,000 yen, including a commission for the ICOMOS headquarters.

Student membership

ICOMOS Japan also provides a special membership to those students who have a strong interest in Cultural Heritage Protection and are eager to participate. Those who wish to apply have to send all documentation (application form and recommendation) to the ICOMOS Japan Secretariat. Although, the student membership does not include the subscription to the International ICOMOS membership and the issue of the membership card. Those eligible for this memberships are students up to the master level. After the conclusion of the master program, the candidate can handle the documents to switch is membership status from “student” to “individual membership”. After the subscription to the individual membership, the application will have access to the information services and the research workshops. The student membership year start in April and ends in March of the following year. 2000 yen per year membership.

Partnership

ICOMOS Japan welcomes organizations and institutions which are willing to cooperate with the “ICOMOS Japan Partnership” project. Those institutions which wish to endorse the ICOMOS missions can apply to the partnership by sending to the ICOMOS Japan Secretariat the following documents: letter of consent, application fee or the fee exemption document.

Membership cancellation

Those who wish to cancel their membership, can fill in the cancellation form below and send it to the ICOMOS Japan Secretariat. The cancellation requests received within the month of August will be processed at the September Board of Directors meeting.
